In August, 1994, Gullah Gourmet presented a totally new concept, designed for worldwide appeal and still having a taste of the lowcountry. Because Charleston is so well known for its delicious food prepared with seafood caught "in da crick", vegatables that are fresh out of the fields, and the gullah dialect that is so intruiging that visitors stand listening in awe! Products have been made by this new and upcoming company which allow each and every person who tries it to put a little "south in their mouth"!

Gullah Gourmet started with 4 products and now they have developed over 30 food products as well as a line of aprons, T-shirts, and kitchen towels, many which we're happy to carry here at Charleston Per Se!. While they have already been featured on the Food Network on the popular Food Finds segment, the Gullah Gourmet will be making another appearance on 'Road Tasted With Jamie and Bobby Deen' on the Food Network, highlighting the ever popular Geechie Peachie Cobbla and Shrimp and Grits products.  Look for excerpts from the telecast here at Charleston Per Se! in Video Guides. Gullah Gourmet has also been featured in Bellsouth Promotions, on Taste of Life Television, Coastal Living Magazine, & many other publications. They have also won numerous ribbons at the Los Angeles and Atlanta Food Shows for packaging, taste, and best visual display. Charleston Per Se! could not have chosen a more fitting selection of foods which we feel "truly" captures the authentic taste of Charleston - the very thing which brings you all in from so far and wide! And on a personal note from this writer - ! Debbie's She-Crab soup is as delicious tasting as we have ever enjoyed at any one of Charleston's well-known eateries! And it is #1 with us too!
